Eastern Cape Finance Act, 2008

Act 1 of 2008

ACTTo authorise certain unauthorised expenditure in respect of 2000/2001, 2001/2002, 2002/2003, 2003/2004, 2004/2006, 2005/2006 financial years and to charge the Provincial Revenue Fund, and to provide for matters incidental thereto.BE IT ENACTED by the Legislature of the Province of the Eastern Cape, as follows: —

1. Authorisation of unauthorised expenditure from the Provincial Revenue Fund

(1)the unauthorised expenditure to the amount of R 3 356 276 138, 46 incurred by the Eastern Cape Provincial Government and Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature during the period April 2000 to March 2006, and which the relevant Standing Committee on Public Accounts recommended for authorisation by the Legislature, is hereby authorised.
(2)The expenditure referred to in subsection (1) is more fully described in the reports of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts as listed in Schedule 1 hereunder.
(3)The expenditure is a direct charge against the Provincial Revenue Fund.

2. Short title and commencement

This Act is called the Eastern Cape Finance Act, 2008.
