Meaning.'-Rule of Court 9 (a).-Local address of attorneys
in proceedings.

Case summary

Rule of Court 9 (a) provides that all petitions, etc., to the Court are to be filed with the Registrar, Held, that the word "file" meant a personal delivery of a document at the office where the document is proposed to be filed, and that therefore such document could not be forwarded by post. In respect of legal proceedings originating in the Transvaal Provincial Division, the attorneys acting for the parties should give a local address in Pretoria. The same rule applies mutatfa mutandis to the Witwatersrand Local Divisio'n.
