ACTTo authorise certain unauthorised expenditure in respect of 2019/20 financial year and to charge the Provincial Revenue Fund, and to provide for matters incidental thereto.BE IT ENACTED by the Legislature of the Province of the Eastern Cape, as follows;—

1. Authorisation of unauthorised expenditure from the Provincial Revenue Fund

(1)The unauthorised expenditure to the amount of R287 028 000 incurred by the Eastern Cape Provincial Department of Education during the period April 2019 to March 2020, and which the relevant Standing Committee on Public Accounts recommended for authorisation by the Legislature, is hereby authorised.

(2)The expenditure referred to in subsection (1) is more fully described in the reports of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts referred to in the Schedule hereto.

(3)The expenditure is a direct charge against the Provincial Revenue Fund as envisaged in Section 34(1) (a) of the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act No. 1 of 1999).

2. Short title

This Act is called the Eastern Cape Finance Act, 2022.
