Legal Practice Act 28 of 2014 – legal practitioners to be admitted
and enrolled either as advocate or attorney – s 115 preserves the right of any person who qualified for admission as an advocate, attorney, conveyancer or notary prior to the commencement of the Act to be so admitted thereafter – preservation of right extends ad infinitum – s 32 empowers Legal Practice Council to convert enrolment of a legal practitioner without recourse to the high court – s 32 does not detract from jurisdiction of the high court to order the Legal Practice Council to enrol a legal practitioner as an advocate where the practitioner qualifies for enrolment as such in terms of the Legal Practice Act.
