Case summary

Where a magistrate had convicted L under sec. 58, sub-sec. 1, of Ordinance 8 of 1903 (the Liquor Law), and under sec. 51, sub-sec. 6, for the same offence, and gave two sentences, Held, that one of
these must be quashed. Held, further, that the production of a counterfoil by a constable of a license he had not issued is not evidence of the existence of the license.
